The Acropolis was formally listed on the European Cultural Heritage list of monuments on 26 March 2007. The Acropolis is located on an extremely rocky outcrop above the city of Athens and contains the remains of several ancient buildings of great architectural and historic significance, the most famous being the Parthenon.

Day 3 – Athens – Daily Saronic Cruise
(Breakfast and lunch included)
After breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to the pier to enjoy your day cruise to the Saronic Islands of Aegina, Poros and Hydra.
Aegina is one of the Saronic Islands of Greece in the Saronic Gulf. The name comes from Aegina, the mother of Aeacus, who was born in and ruled the island. During ancient times, Aegina was a rival to Athens, the great sea power of the era.
The island, along with offshore islets, comprises the Municipality of Aegina in Piraeus Prefecture, a part of the Attica region. The capital is the town of Aegina situated at the northwestern end of the island. Due to its proximity to Athens, it is a popular quick getaway during the summer months, with quite a few Athenians owning summer houses on the island.
Poros is a small Greek island-pair in the southern part of the Saronic Gulf, at a distance about 58 km south from Piraeus and separated from the Peloponnese by a 200-metre wide sea channel, with the town of Galatas on the mainland across the strait. Like other ports in the Saronic, it is a popular weekend destination for Athenian travellers. It is an island with rich vegetation as well. Much of the northern and far eastern/western sides of the island are bushy, whereas large areas of old pine forest are found in the south and center of the island.
Hydra is another of the Saronic Islands of Greece, located in the Aegean Sea between the Saronic Gulf and the Argolic Gulf. It is separated from the Peloponnese by narrow strip of water. In ancient times, the island was known as Hydrea which was a reference to the springs on the island.
Overnight in Athens.
Day 4 – Athens – Cape Sounion Tour
(Breakfast included)
Leisure time until we pick you up from the hotel in the afternoon and drive along the coastal road arriving at Cape Sounion. Cape Sounion is renowned for its ruins of an ancient Greek temple of Poseidon, the god of the sea in classical mythology. The remains are perched on the headland, surrounded on three sides by the sea. The ruins bear the deeply engraved name of English Romantic poet Lord Byron (1788 – 1824). The site is a popular excursion for tourists from Athens, with sunset over the Aegean Sea, as viewed from the ruins, a much sought-after spectacle.
Late evening we will drive back to hotel. Overnight in Athens.
