Day 1- Istanbul
After arrival at Istanbul Airport, we will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day/evening is yours. Overnight in Istanbul.
Day 2- Istanbul –Walking City Tour ( B / L )
After breakfast we will pick you up from hotel and start a full day guided tour of the old city on the historical peninsula. We start our visit with the stunning museum of Hagia Sophia, one of the greatest marvels of architecture, constructed as a basilica in the 6th century by Emperor Justinian, later an imperial mosque, and now a museum. We then move on to the Blue Mosque, facing Hagia Sophia, famous for its magnificent blue Iznik tiles and six unique minarets, built in the name of Sultan Ahmet. The Hippodrome of Costantinople was the centre of sportive (chariot races, athletics) events and political activities of the old city. The Obelisk of Theodosius, Serpentine Column, German Fountain of Wilhelm II are the monuments decorating Hippodrome.
We also visit Topkapı Palace, residence of Ottoman Sultans exhibiting imperial treasury, sacred Islamic relics of Prophet Mohammed, you can see the palace kitchens, Chinese porcelain collection, weapons, calligraphy section etc. Imagine the liafe of the sultan n the 15th century. (Visit to the Harem is not included in the program.)
Grand Covered Bazaar, most attractive shopping and trade center of Istanbul and biggest covered markets in the world with nearly 4000 shops selling antiques, jewellery, gold, carpets, leatherware and a myriad of souvenirs and trinkets. In 2014, it was listed No.1 among world’s most-visited tourist attractions with 91,250,000 annual visitors.
End of the tour; we transfer you back to your hotel.
Day 3- Istanbul-Bosphorus Cruise & Two Continents Tour (B/L)
Breakfast at your hotel. We then pick you up from your hotel and begin with a brief visit to City Walls which surround the old city since 5th Century.
Golden Horn, the Bosphorus Straits and a natural harbour of the historical peninsula separating the old and the new parts of Istanbul where the first colonies settled during the Byzantine era.
Spice Bazaar, magical smells of heady aromas of various spices. Shops selling fruits, vegetables, fish, flowers, souvenirs etc. It is also known as Egyptian Bazaar.
Bosphorus Cruise, through the waterway separating the two continents, Europe and Asia, with a possibility to take photographs of marble palaces, small fishing villages, ancient wooden villas of Ottoman architecture. During the excursion you will pass the magnificent Dolmabahce Palace, the imperial pavillions of Yildiz Palace, Ciragan Palace, and Ortakoy which is a symbol of tolerance with a church, a mosque and a synagogue existing side by side for centuries.
Rumeli Fortress (view from the boat – no visit inside the castle), built by the Conqueror to control and protect the Bosphorus. A stunning example of military architecture.
Beylerbeyi Palace, the summer residence of Ottoman Sultans with its original furniture and magnificent gardens with the Harem on Asian Side.
Bosphorus Bridge, unique chance to step over from one continent (Europe) to another (Asia) in one day.
Camlıca Hill, panoramic view of Istanbul and Bosphorus from one of the highest and most charming places in the city. Admire the magnificent panoramic view of Istanbul and the Bosphorus.
At the end of the tour we take you back to your hotel. Overnight in Istanbul.
Beylerbeyi Palace closed on Monday and Thursday replaced with Chora Museum.
Rumeli Fortress closed on Wednesday.
Spice Bazaar closed on Sunday replaced with Golden Horn.
Day 4- Istanbul- Princes’ Islands Tour ( B / L )
Escape from the bustle of Istanbul for a day with a trip to the Princes’ Islands. You will join us aboard a ferry bound for the idyllic Princes’ Island, enjoying cool breezes and charming sights along the way. Our destination is Buyukada, the largest of the islands; formerly a site of exiled palace members, particularly in the Byzantine era, later a popular summer resort with pinewood scenery and wooden mansions.
You will have your lunch at a quaint fish restaurant in the island.
You can enjoy a ride in a horse-drawn carriage among the pine trees after relaxing on the beaches in the numerous coves of its coast. Evening return to Istanbul and transfer to your hotel.
Day 5- Istanbul ( B )
After breakfast, our tour concludes and we say good bye to our new friends and depending on the time of your international flight we transfer you to airport and say ” have a good flight ”. End of our services.
