14 Days Turkey & Greece Highlights

DAY 01 – Arrival in Istanbul
Meet on arrival to Istanbul Airport and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day and evening is yours to relax or to explore this magical city. Overnight in Istanbul.

DAY 02 – Istanbul Sightseeing Tour
After breakfast meet in hotel lobby to begin exploring some of the most amazing sights that the historical old town has to offer. Your guided tour includes the Blue Mosque, St Sophia, Hippodrome and Obelisk, Grand Bazaar and Topkapi Palace (excluding optional extra entrance to Harem room). Evening free at leisure to stroll around and enjoy dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in Istanbul.

DAY 03 – Half Day Bosphorous Cruise, flight to Cappadocia
This morning enjoy a cruise on the Bosphorous during which you have views from the boat of the historical sights that line its shores. The guided tour also includes a visit to the famous Spice Bazaar and City Walls, it finishes at 12:30 . Then some free time until transfer to airport for departure on domestic flight to Cappadocia. Overnight in Cappadocia

DAY 04 – North Cappadocia Tour 
Today admire beautiful natural landscape of Cappadocia. During this full day tour explore Devrent Valley and Monk’s Valley (Pasabagi) where you find the world famous mushroom-shaped fairy chimneys; break for lunch in Avanos, a village famous for thousands of years for its pottery and ceramics; then visit Goreme Open-Air Museum and explore the numerous churches and monasteries with their painted frescoes. These churches and monasteries where carved from the soft volcanic stone and decorated by Medieval Orthodox Christian Monks around 1000-1200AD. Also enjoy the view from the top of Uchisar Rock castle, the highest point in Cappadocia. Overnight in Cappadocia.

DAY 05 – South Cappadocia  Tour with Valleys & Underground City
After breakfast join on another full day tour this time starting with a 4km (medium grade) hike in Red Valley exploring rock-cut churches and fairy chimneys along the way. Visit Cavusin (old Greek village) then time for lunch before heading on to descend into Kaymakli Underground City. The day also includes panoramic views at Pigeon Valley with its famous dovecotes and the village of Ortahisar. Then a little free time until your transfer to the station for departure on overnight comfortable air-conditionned non-smoking intercity bus to Pamukkale.

DAY 06 – Pamukkale & Hierapolis ruins
Arrival early morning in Pamukkale and meet for transfer to a small hotel where a day room is provided for you to have a shower and breakfast. Then join the tour visiting the natural formation of the travertines (known as “cotton castle” in Turkish) in Pamukkale along with the ruins of Hierapolis. End of day with arrival to hotel in Kusadasi. Overnight in Kusadasi.

DAY 07 – Ephesus Sightseeing Tour
Today we leave for a full day tour visiting the Ancient City of Ephesus. Here you have the chance to walk down marble streets, view the magnificent Celsius Library and the Grand Theatre, just a few of the many buildings and fountains that can be found in this open air museum. Also visit the House of Virgin Mary & remains of Artemis Temple. Overnight in Kusadasi.

DAY 08 – Kusadasi/Izmir to Mykonos
Breakfast, check-out and depending on flight schedules transfer to Izmir Airport for flight from Izmir, via Athens, to Mykonos. Arrive and meet for transfer to hotel with remainder of day and evening free at leisure to begin exploring this famous island. Overnight in Mykonos.

DAY 09 – Free day in Mykonos
Breakfast at hotel and a full day free at leisure for you to explore Mykonos Town and other areas of the island. Not forgetting the vibrant nightlife which the island is famed for. Overnight in Mykonos.

DAY 10 – Mykonos to Santorini
Breakfast, check-out and as per selected time transfer to port for departure on seajet ferry to Santorini (ferry takes around 3hours). Arrive and meet for transfer to hotel with remainder of the day and evening free at leisure. Overnight in Santorini.

DAY 11 – Free day in Santorini
Today is free at leisure for you to explore this magical island – during the day you can relax on one of its many beaches, visit a few of its charming villages, stroll the coastal route from Fira to Oia, famous for its sunsets. There are optional excursions available, on request. End the day watching the romantic sunset either from your hotel or during dinner at a local taverna/restaurant. Overnight in Santorini.

DAY 12 – Santorini to Athens
Breakfast, check-out and as per selected time transfer to port for departure on ferry to Athens (ferry takes between 5hrs to 9hrs depending on vessel – if you prefer 1hr domestic flights are also available). Arrive and transfer to hotel. Overnight in Athens.

DAY 13 – Athens City Tour with Acropolis
Breakfast at hotel then join on one of the following regular group excursions (on choice):
a) 5hr Coach tour: visit Acropolis, New Acropolis Museum & panoramic drive through city center
b) 3hr Walking tour: visit Acropolis & stroll through the city centre
c) 5hr Walking tour: visit Acropolis, New Acropolis Museum & stroll through city centre
d) 3hr Athens Food walking tour: visiting specialty food shops with tastings & Varvakeios market

Afternoon and evening free at leisure for you to further explore on your own. Overnight in Athens.

DAY 14 – Departure from Athens
Breakfast, check-out and as per your international flight departure time transfer to Athens Airport.
